Do people still write personal diary

Do people still write personal diary?

YES! People still use personal diaries and if you ask me, they do it more than ever before.

I think the reason you thought of this question is that your idea of diary writing involves a hard-bound leather journal that is too heavy to carry.
But the time to use paper diaries is long gone.

People, especially students and professionals (which is most of the country), lead busy lives.
As a current undergraduate and future professional I barely get the time to sit and write.
Although, I prefer digital apps over paper diaries.
There are many reason why I made the change, one of the reasons was, since i lived in a flat with roommates I would not have the privacy to write and even if i did I always worried about someone reading my diary, until it actually happened one day.

Once I realized that there was no way a paper diary was going to solve my privacy issues, I decided to go digital.
I found an unique diary/journal app on the playstore called Snaps: Journal.
It is unique in the sense that not only it functions like a diary, I can secure all my entries with a password or fingerprint and never have to worry about anyone reading it.
Initially I used it only to write accounts of my daiy life but soon I started using it for everything.
From using it in college for notes to create a bucket list for my weekend.
It’s simple UI is super-flexible and gives you a variety of options, including audio recording and photographs which can be added to your entries.

If you too are starting a journal or a diary, I would ask you to go with a hassle free digital app over a paper diary.

Yes, some people still have the habit of writing a personal diary.
Of course, I am one among them.
I've been writing my personal diary since my 6th standard.
But one thing.
.
If you really write your Mind in your diary, it will be damn helpful to you.
For instance, when I read my diary for the first time, I've noticed a different me.
Everytime I read my diary, I find something different.
Nothing might give you an evidence of how your mindset has changed along with your age.
But a diary does.
It's a fantastic evidence to know the stages your mind has undergone.
It will recollect many happy moments, naughty things etc; In one word, it's a pleasure.
Never feel writing diary is a boring thing because you are the most important person in your life and how can you be boring to yourself? :)

Yes I'm in.

I still write personal diary and I have been writing since my sixth standard.

At the beginning, I used to write only on special or important occassions but then from seventh standard I almost wrote regularly except few boring days when nothing really happened.
.

During my sixteenth birthday I swore as a birthday resolution that I must write diary each and every day whatsoever the reason.

I actually wrote all 365 days when I was sixteen and seventeen( the feel you get when you realise that you have accounted all your activities each and everyday for the whole year is truly fulfilling and adding to that the last page of the year, the 31st of December always holds a special place in my heart as this is gonna be the perfect end for an imperfect year and another reason for being happy with that day is afterall we can start with a new diary from next day onwards)
I started writing diary because when I was small I used to see stacks of old diaries written by my father in our shelves may be unconsciously that habit got instilled in me.

The best part of writing a diary is that you can always have an imaginary bestie through thick and thin…mine is named twinky;for the past 8 years she has been travelling with me.
Ithink she knows me more than me as she stores all my memories even when my own brain fail to recollect.

There are days when I randomly turned a page and felt 'did it really happen?' or mostly I'll feel 'that thing really happened in our life?' and many a times I thought 'did he had that much craze for me?'…'how did I do that many things?'…'i have been a chatterbox'…'I must not have done that' and the list goes on.

Bottomline: DIARY WRITING ENABLES US TO REFLECT OUR LIFE AND MAKE US EMPATHIC AND GOOD DECISION MAKERS.

More than you are asking yourself, I am asking myself the same question.

Why? Why a diary entry and that too with a cliche name like this, “The Diary Of A Boy”, (Let me make this clear, no inspiration from The Diary Of A young Girl, So if they come here suing me 20 Million Dollars, I would have to sell myself to get the 20 Millionth of it.
)
To be really frank, my life is fun.
It is Amazing and I am enjoying every bit of it.
Since I am just beginning to write this one and maybe add up and mix a little of those written way backs.
This entry goes back on October 1st.

Background : This is the 10TH Month of the year :) and I (Nameless) have a Life Partner, Soul Partner, Friend, Girlfriend and Luckily a Junior.
I can act all Seniory but ends up behaving like none.
So we both (of course with our families and for a complete different reason are off to an Orphanage (Christian Missionary) to spend some time and celebrate with them.

The Diary Of A Boy : Entry : 1 : Tune in!

I call it a journal, but yes I write a diary.
I write it on my laptop, first thing in the morning.
I put in it my aches and pains, and events from the day and night before.
I've only been doing this for about three years, but if I don't get to write something every day I miss it.

I bought a Leuchturm1917 journal book to keep a journal with pen and ink.
Yes, I own and use a fountain pen.
But this book seems too good for my mundane journal.
Perhaps I'll shift to writing in it someday soon.
It's also too nice to leave empty.

I also keep a journal (log book) for a computer app i’m developing.
I keep that with pen and ink.
Writing out the problems on paper with pen seems to help my thought processes to better understand the problem and find the solution.
I read somewhere that there is evidence for better understanding through handwritten notes.

I find the fountain pen is also a help.
In college (CalTech) I started keeping notes AND writing exams with fountain pen by my sophomore year.

just started.
.

i am doing B.
Tech(IT) in such a reputed college and beautiful college
anyways nothing with the college that made me write personal diaries.
.
it was the trivial part of my life.
.
those school days.
.
yes.
.
and it was not actually the education and knowledge i gained made me write but that love.
.
fleeting love no longer with me.
.

AT THAT TIME ::
i started scribbling my heart's murmers about this love in a rough note
(a two side crush to be honest…it was an unsaid relationship that seperated with no disappointments but took away some good memories.
.
)
I made sure those scribblings were not visible and legible enough to read but you know what after my school days past i just sit with that trying to recollect what i had written .

PRESENT ::
And now i am in college .
.
i think something like this may in my college days too (who knows.
.
)so i bought a seperate notebook.
.
and i am writing every incident as far as possible in it very clearly so that i could spare every memory for the rest of my life.
.

(mentioning that i have written everything clearly doesnt mean i have became too bold to let others into my memories .
.
as soon as i complete two pages opposite to each.
.
i glue it at the side and close it.
.
it will become dry for the next day.
.
so even if someone opens i will have an hint.
.
a small scale through the secret glue gap will let me open it when i need it in my future mayb e.
.
)
so this is it.

Yes,I do.
Every year my father brings some diaries,I use to take one since my childhood.
I used to write it for maximum 3 days and the rest would be empty.
Every year followed the same pattern since my childhood to my 12th grade.
In my 12th grade my dad brought again a diary and gave it me.
same pattern continued for the three days and i stopped it.
but this time i pasted my photograph on the coverpage.
After five months i came to see the book again, this time i did’nt kept any resolution to write my diary but i wrote a page.
When i opened the page next day i loved it.
Then i started to write my diary since that day

I do and I am writing(typing…) diary for past 8 months.
So far it has been a good experience.
